Storytelling is the thread that runs throughout Robin Bayley’s life. Following a successful fifteen-year career in the advertising and television industries, he decided he wanted to tell his own stories and wrote an internationally-acclaimed non-fiction book about… storytelling.
It was when he was speaking at literature festivals and events around the world that he discovered the true power of spoken stories, and the magic of creating a connection with an audience. People began to ask him to help them tell their stories, and this has become his calling; to empower people to say what they need to say, in the way they need to say it.
He has coached high-profile personalities, TEDx speakers, campaigners, senior executives and emerging leaders, individually and in workshops, everywhere from Sydney to Silicon Valley and Madrid to the Middle East.
Robin is founder and head coach at Keynote Doctor, He trained as a coach with the internationally renowned Coaches Training Institute in 2015. He is a leadership and communications coach at Ginger Leadership Communications, and co-hosted The Story Party storytelling event in London for over two years.
Jojo Thomas worked in the city for ten years, as a business editor and team leader, before following her dream of helping people live happier lives by training as a Co-Active coach. As someone who has always written and performed her own material – writing plays, poems, and stories since she was a young girl – Jojo is passionate about helping others to unlock their confidence and creativity, and have fun in the process!
As well as coaching, Jojo runs regular creative writing workshops, and co-facilitates storytelling evenings in London. She even crops up on the London stand-up comedy circuit occasionally, and has a keen sense of how to bring humour and fun to a speech.
Also a qualified hypnotherapist, Jojo can help even the most nervous speakers find their voice and access the stories they want to tell.
Like Robin, Jojo is a coach at Ginger Leadership Communications, specialising in courage and impact. She is co-host of regular London storytelling event The Story Party.
Before I came to you I had absolutely no idea how I was going to pull this off! The speech was absolutely perfect. Waiting to deliver it was like when you buy someone a really good present and can’t wait for them to unwrap it.
Robin is immensely refreshing, practical, insightful and fun. His work with me greatly enhanced my business and led to increased sales and an overall expansion in my business – he is a gem.
I can’t speak highly enough of how brilliant Robin is at getting to the essence of what makes a story compelling and allowing you to express it in your own authentic way.
Jojo and Robin themselves brought a perfect combination of expertise, experience, fun and constructive engagement to the day, helping people to push outside their comfort zones and holding a safe space for us to experiment and try new things. It was a game changer of a workshop and has left us feeling inspired to properly integrate what we learned into our work.
I’ve turned directly to Robin on multiple occasions, as he has an innate knack of eliciting inspirational and personal stories from FICO staff and customers. His easy going, inquisitive manner belies an instinctive knack for cutting through the noise and finding the most compelling elements of a presentation. A good teacher knows the hooks to help students learn – a great storyteller, however, gently leads the presentation team down a meandering path to discover its own magic. That kind of skill can’t easily be taught, and for it, we’re grateful to Robin.
Thank you SO much for today’s session. It was fantastic. I thought the whole session had amazing energy and enthusiasm (from you and the members!). We have a group chat with all of the people who attended the session and it has been blowing up with lovely comments with people feeling very positive and saying they have learned so much.
